Canyon Falls Muncie
Our company began in the mid-1950's as A.B. Dick Products Of Muncie, Inc., an exclusive distributor of A.B. Dick products. The primary emphasis of the company was on the sale and service of duplicating equipment and small printing presses. The company's market area encompassed an area approximately 60 miles from Muncie, including the cities of New Castle, Anderson, Marion, and Richmond. Market strengths included education, religion and commercial accounts. Those markets still represent the core business of our organization.
During the mid-1960's the product line grew to include electrostatic copiers, which provided the initial entry into the copying world. A.B. Dick added plain paper copiers in the late '70's.
The company changed owners in October, 1977 and changed the name to Integrated Business Systems, Inc going by the acronym, “IBS”.
A dealership arrangement was entered into with Canon USA, in 1981 to market the NP120 and NP400 plain paper copiers. This quickly grew into a full line Canon copier dealership which the company remains today. In fact, AB Dick-IBS-Canyon Falls has been the only full-line Canon Copier Dealer in East Central Indiana since that time over 20 years ago.
Phil Hagen, a resident of Carmel, Indiana, purchased the company in 1988. Mr. Hagen commuted from his home in Carmel, Indiana to his Muncie office until he decided to retire in 2009.
Friends for a number of years, Edd Patterson and Phil Hagen reached an agreement for Edd to purchase IBS on June 1, 2009. Edd came out of retirement and moved to Anderson, Indiana, where he could oversee the operations of the Muncie based, IBS. With the purchase of the company, Edd incorporated the new company and changed the name from IBS to Canyon Falls Office Products Of Muncie, Inc. That name was a combination of Canyon Falls and the original AB Dick Products of Muncie titles. The new company entered into a new and separate Dealer Agreement with Canon, USA in July, 2009.
Today, Canyon Falls Muncie serves the area previously established by AB Dick and expanded upon by IBS. It is active in the local business community and takes great pride in being both a good corporate citizen and “a good, honest company”.
